From childhood, Pete Schneider has been taught the value of service.

His parents instilled in him the values of hard work, honesty, morality, and putting others first.

When Pete’s father passed away unexpectedly in 1977, he cut short his own academic pursuits to come home and run the family business, St. Joe Brick Works, and Modern Masonary Products, Inc., both based right here in Senate District 1.

Leading the family business, Pete has created jobs, built successes, and faced struggles, so he knows the burdens Louisianans face.

Married to Elizabeth Lussen Schneider since 1979, Pete is the proud father of three – Pete IV, 33, Christopher, 31, and Kathryn, 26.   Pete and Elizabeth have instilled in their children the same values they learned at a young age.

As a state representative from 1991-2007, Pete worked hard for all of us – and not for himself. At a time when scandals rocked the Capitol, Pete was above the fray, never losing sight of his ethics and the oath he took to serve.   He authored legislation to protect property rights for all Louisianans, and to require sex offenders to register and notify their neighbors – helping law enforcement and parents do their jobs and keeping your children safe. He did all that while running a business and raising a family, and with very few exceptions he was home every night, not at lobbyist parties in Baton Rouge.

During the last eight years, Pete has focused on his family, his employees and expanding his business, but sitting on the sidelines isn’t what he does. From operating a forklift in the brick factory to painting and making sales calls, Pete works – just like you do. He’s ready to work for us again, in the State Senate, and he needs your help to get there.

On Oct. 24 and during Early Voting, Oct. 10-17, the choice for senator in District 1 is clear.

We need Pete Schneider back in Baton Rouge.
